Toyota South Africa Motors leads the gees for FNB Wines2Whales 2025

Johannesburg – Toyota South Africa Motors (TSAM) is excited to be the Official Vehicle and Route Partner of the 2025 FNB Wines2Whales (W2W), South Africa’s incredibly scenic stage race renowned as “the race with gees.” With the first three years completed, we are proud to announce the renewal of our sponsorship for the next three years.

Taking place from 31 October to 9 November 2025, the event combines world-class mountain biking with the celebrated spirit of camaraderie and fun that W2W has become known for. As the Official Vehicle Partner, Toyota’s fleet of Hilux Legend 55’s will provide essential support to all stakeholders, ensuring a seamless experience for the event’s staff, crew and participants. This includes transporting race officials, providing logistical support along the route, and ensuring that key operational elements of the event run smoothly.

Three iconic stages attracting riders from across South Africa and beyond

  • Chardonnay: 31 October – 2 November
  • Pinotage: 3 – 5 November
  • Shiraz: 7 – 9 November

More Gees for Riders and Fans

Toyota Cruise Sections: Specially designed sections of the race route that allow riders to showcase their technical ability and enjoy a refreshing “gear change”.

Luxury Route Tours: Exclusive transport for invited guests to remote vantage points not normally accessible to spectators, offering a unique perspective on the race.

All fun and games at the FNB Recharge Zone

After each stage, riders head to the popular FNB Recharge Zone, where they relax and recover with refreshments before the next race day. This year, Toyota will enhance the zone’s atmosphere by introducing two state-of-the-art racing simulators from The Toyota Gaming Engine (TTGE), allowing riders to experience Toyota performance in a dynamic, interactive format.

Backing Local Talent

Toyota will also continue to invest in South African talent through its sponsorship of the Toyota Specialized Team, featuring the formidable Johan van Zyl, Matt Beers and Travis Stedman. This year we also welcome Imbuko ChemChamp, who officially joined the Toyota SA cycling sponsorship portfolio. Marco Joubert and Tristan Nortje, together with Lood Goosen and Rudi Koen, will be racing as Imbuko ChemChamp in their new Toyota branded kit.

“The FNB Wines2Whales reflects the same values Toyota stands for – reliability, adventure and creating memorable experiences,” says Glenn Crompton, Vice President of Marketing at Toyota South Africa Motors. “Through our partnership, we are proud to support the logistics of the race, enhance the rider experience, and introduce innovative activations that reflect Toyota’s forward-thinking approach to mobility and community engagement.”

With its blend of competitive riding and social camaraderie, the FNB Wines2Whales remains one of South Africa’s most anticipated cycling events – and Toyota is proud to help drive it forward.
