For a record third time, Toyota South Africa Motors (TSAM) has won the coveted Brand of the Year in the annual Cars.co.za awards.

This victory follows those in 2016 and 2019, and means that Toyota has won the award more times than any other manufacturer.

In addition to the prestigious Brand of the Year award, Toyota also managed to win five product category awards. These were for Hilux (Leisure Double Cab category), Fortuner (Adventure SUV), RAV4 (Family Car), C-HR (Crossover) and Starlet (Budget Car).

The Brand of the Year award is not only the most esteemed, but also the most factual, as it is determined entirely by market data and the findings of the survey – including, but not limited to, the brands’ respective sales and after-sales service ratings. The category awards are determined by a mix of consumer data and judges’ scores.

The Cars.co.za Consumer Awards (powered by WesBank) are arguably one of the country’s premier automotive awards programmes. Commenting on Toyota’s success, TSAM’s Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing Leon Theron says: “We are delighted to accept the #CarsAwards Brand of the Year trophy as well as the five others for product categories. As a company that is entirely committed to providing best-in-class solutions for our customers, we are truly pleased that the market we are serving is acknowledging our efforts. We therefore extend our gratitude to our customers, without whom, no accolade would be possible.”
